Fast. Reliable. Passport services for International Travel.
A trip can be close enough to require careful passport planning without making assumptions about the right service. Des Plaines travelers should first identify a new passport, renewal, replacement, or correction request and review the departure window. The Passport Office helps compare expedited service choices with travel timing and offers paperwork guidance to make the preparation process easier to follow.
The exact list changes by service, but organizing these core materials early makes the next step easier.
The exact requirements vary by application type, but every applicant benefits from a careful review and a clear submission plan.

Routine or Expedited Service
If you're using the routine, standard filing process, you can contact an acceptance facility directly to apply. If you're expediting your passport with The Passport Office, start online. Only new Form DS-11 applications require in-person witnessing at one of these facilities.
When witnessing is required and expediting with us, the facility returns your documents in a sealed envelope to ship direct to us. Eligible renewals do not need to visit these facilities.
